INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Cancer and Careers and BrickHouse GPS are marking five years of partnership, with BrickHouse GPS publicly sharing the story of its ongoing support for the program for the first time.
Since 2021, BrickHouse GPS has supported Cancer and Careers, a national nonprofit that helps people with cancer manage their careers during and after treatment, by donating warehouse space, staff time, and shipping costs to get free laptops into the hands of patients and survivors who need one to keep working, keep interviewing, or keep a career moving. Cancer and Careers provides the laptops. BrickHouse GPS’s warehouse team in Indianapolis stores them, packs them, and ships them, at the company’s own expense.
Over that time, the partnership has grown from a favor into a routine part of how the company’s warehouse operates. More than 200 laptops have shipped so far as part of the Technology Assistance Program, each one going to someone dealing with treatment, recovery, or a job search that got harder the moment a diagnosis entered the picture.
“Cancer and Careers needed more than warehouse space. They needed a team that could handle custom shipments carefully and reliably for people who were already dealing with enough. White-glove support is how we operate our own warehouse, so putting that capability behind this program was a natural fit. Five years later, we are proud to keep helping get these laptops where they need to go,” said Todd Morris, CEO of BrickHouse GPS.
Cancer and Careers is marking its own milestone this year: 25 years of helping people with cancer stay in the workforce. In 2025, the organization’s programs reached more than 600,000 people through its English and Spanish websites, delivered resume feedback to 224 job-seeking survivors, and distributed more than 80,000 publications. In 2026, the organization launched its inaugural Best Companies for Working with Cancer Index, recognizing 17 organizations for building recovery-forward workplaces. This year’s final conference is the 12th annual West Coast Conference on Work and Cancer, which will be held virtually on October 17.
“We’re so grateful for this special partnership. BrickHouse GPS’ support is essential to ensuring our community has access to reliable technology. It is easy to underestimate how important a computer is, but when you don’t have one, it makes everything from telehealth appointments to accessing supportive resources to participating fully in the workforce nearly impossible. This program changes that one individual at a time,” said Rebecca V. Nellis, Executive Director of Cancer and Careers.
BrickHouse GPS plans to continue its support of Cancer and Careers through the West Coast Conference and beyond. More information about Cancer and Careers’ programs, including its Balancing Work & Cancer webinar series and Resume Review program, is available at cancerandcareers.org.
