Company Overview

Clark Community Mental Health Center provides outpatient mental health services across three counties in Southwest Missouri. Their teams rely on company vehicles to travel between offices and client locations, supporting individuals and families who often need immediate, in-person care.

“Our biggest concern was safety. We need to know where our people are if something happens. The visibility helps us respond faster, and it also gives our staff peace of mind knowing we can find them when they’re out in the field.”

— Becky Prater, HR Generalist, Clark Community Mental Health Center

The Roadblock

Before using BrickHouse GPS, Clark Center lacked consistent visibility into where vehicles were and how they were being used. Previous hardwired tracking solutions had caused electrical issues, creating hesitation around trying GPS again.

At the same time, leadership had limited insight when questions came up—whether it was verifying staff activity, understanding vehicle use after hours, or locating a vehicle that hadn’t been returned.

“We were guessing where vehicles were, and that’s not a great place to be.”
— Amber Strickrodt, Fleet Manager, Clark Community Mental Health Center

Finding a Smarter Way

Clark Center chose BrickHouse GPS for its simple plug-in devices, strong customer reviews, and the ability to avoid hardwiring altogether. They began with a small test group to make sure the devices worked smoothly before rolling them out across the full fleet.

Onboarding was straightforward, with the BrickHouse GPS team helping set up the platform, notifications, and alerts early on. Today, Clark Center uses BrickHouse GPS for real-time and historical tracking, after-hours and weekend use alerts, geofences for out-of-state travel, and speeding notifications. While the team continues to fine-tune farm road speed alerts with support, communication throughout the process has been clear and responsive.

“They called us right away and walked us through everything, which made getting started much easier.”
— Becky Prater, HR Generalist, Clark Community Mental Health Center

Peace of Mind

With BrickHouse GPS in place, Clark Center no longer has to guess. The team can quickly verify staff activity, address vehicle misuse, and locate vehicles instantly when needed.

In one situation, tracking data confirmed that a case manager had spent the appropriate amount of time with a client, helping resolve a dispute without back-and-forth. In another, the team noticed a company vehicle traveling out of state late at night. When they checked the map, it became clear the vehicle had been driven across state lines to a casino. Because they had clear location history, the situation was addressed quickly and directly—without assumptions or uncertainty.

The visibility has also changed how employees communicate. Staff know the trackers are in place and are often upfront about issues, reporting speeding or delays before alerts even come through.

“It’s helped us clear things up quickly instead of wondering what really happened.”
— Becky Prater, HR Generalist, Clark Community Mental Health Center

“For me, it’s about not having to guess where vehicles are anymore.”
— Amber Strickrodt, Fleet Manager, Clark Community Mental Health Center
