Got questions? We've got answers.
How do I install the TrackPort Pro X?
The TrackPort Pro X is a plug-and-play GPS tracker. For most vehicles, just plug it into the OBD-II port, usually found under the driver’s dashboard. The device will power on automatically. For a stealthier setup, use a Y-cable to hide the device behind the dashboard.
Where is the OBD-II port located in my vehicle?
In light-duty vehicles, the OBD-II port is typically under the dashboard near the driver’s seat. For heavy-duty vehicles, you’ll likely have a diagnostic port such as a 6-pin J1708, 9-pin J1939, or 14-pin RP1226 under the dash.
Can I use this tracker in a heavy-duty truck?
Yes. The TrackPort Pro X supports heavy-duty vehicles using a Y-harness adapter. Simply plug the harness into the truck’s diagnostic port, then connect the tracker to the harness. We provide the correct cable for your truck.
What kind of vehicles are compatible with the TrackPort Pro X?
It works with most light-duty vehicles (2008 or newer) and many heavy-duty models including Ford F-Series, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, and more. For a full compatibility list, check the supported vehicles section on our site or contact us directly.
Can I move the device to another vehicle later?
Yes! The TrackPort Pro X is portable. Simply unplug it from one vehicle and install it in another compatible vehicle using the same method.
What should I do if the tracker doesn’t power on?
First, ensure the device is plugged in fully. If the lights don’t turn on, try a different port if available or reach out to our support team we’re here to help.
How can I secure the device once it’s installed?
For added security, use zip ties or Velcro to keep the device stable. If using a Y-harness, we recommend mounting the device label-up on a flat surface, away from direct airflow to prevent condensation damage.
What is a drip loop and why do I need one?
In heavy-duty trucks, AC condensation can damage wiring. A drip loop is a simple cable loop installed below the connection point to prevent water from dripping into the device. We show how to create one in our install video.
Does BrickHouse GPS provide installation support?
